Celebrating success at STARS Awards

The 2017 Scarborough STARS Awards were held on the evening of Friday 21st July at The Scarborough Spa. The Awards which are in their third year are organised by apprentices from employers in the local area and celebrates the achievements of apprentices, employers and training providers throughout the year.

Brathay Team Members, Alyssa Wood (DTA) and Luke Woods de Lacy (Rosti-Pickering) were in attendance with team mentor, Bob Watmore. They were invited along to talk about their achievement in the 2017 Brathay Apprentice Challenge, the skills that they have acquired through the Challenge and how something like this can benefit apprentices throughout their programme.

Alyssa Wood, DTA's Business Admin Apprentice said this of the evening: ''It was nice to see apprentices getting recognition for their hard work. More young people and employers are seeing the benefits of apprenticeships each year. It was great to see all of the different sectors coming together to celebrate apprenticeships. Hopefully we can influence more apprentices from our region to enter the Brathay Apprentice Challenge in 2018.''

All at DTA would like to say well done to all of the winners on the evening.
