Dale Power Solutions sweep the board at regional heats of 2017 National Apprenticeship Awards

                                                                               

Scarborough based employer Dale Power Solutiona have swept the board at the regional finals of the National Apprenticeship Awars with 2 of their apprentices being named regional finalists for Apprentice of the Year, as well as Dale Power Solutions being named finalists for Employer of the Year. Dale Power Solutions have a nationally recognised apprenticeship programme and invest heavily in the training of young people and have recruited 2 new engineering apprentices for 2017 - their CEO even started as an apprentice!

Hannah Magowan who is a second year Electrical Apprentice and trains here at DTA has made the finals for the Advanced Apprentice of the Year along with Mickyle Clark who is Dale Power Solutions' Business Support Apprentice who has been named a finalist in the Higher Apprentice of the Year category. Both Hannah and Mickyle attend a variety of career events throughout North Yorkshire promoting the benefits of apprenticeships and how it can start young people on a great career path. They were both also part of Dale Power's 2017 Brathay Apprentice Challenge Team and using their skills they revamped a children's play area in East Ayton which will benefit the community years into the future. 

The National Apprenticeship Awards are in their 14th year, are run by the National Apprenticeship Service and recognises excellenc in 3 key areas: businesses that grow their talent using apprenticeships, apprentices who have made a significant improvement to their workplaces and former apprentices or those who champion apprenticeships. The Yorkshire and Humber regional finals are to be held on Thursday 10th October at the Thursday 10th October at the Royal York Hotel where all winners will progress on to the National Finals. 

Sue Husband, Director of the National Apprenticeship Service said: ''Our awards are an exciting opportunity to recognise the hard work and success of apprentices and the commitment of apprenticeship employers. The regional finalists demonstrate promise and drive and have a real enthusiasm for the apprenticeship programme.''
