DTA takes trip to Engineering College

DTA would like to thank The Engineering College in Birkenhead for welcoming Keith McCrorie and Jeff Wood our Fabrication and Welding Trainers, Kelly Lambert a Fabrication and Welding Apprentice at ProSpeed, York and DTA's Business Admin Apprentice Alyssa Wood for a fantastic visit on Thursday 30th November and Friday 1st December.

DTA and The Engineering College are both part of the GTA England network who encourage Training Providers to work together to develop aspects of their business and share methods of good practice.

The two days allowed The Engineering College to share their working practices with the team from DTA - Jeff and Keith met with their training team to share their ways of training, about their qualifications and how each team could improve. Alyssa also met with their administration team on how we can develop the Apprentice Council and Learner Voice here at DTA. And Kelly also took part in a friendly skills competition with the apprentices at the Engineering College.

All the team were thrilled to have a tour of Cammell Laird which is the largest and most successful ship repair and conversion specialist in the UK - and luckily located right next door!

All the team and Kelly learned a lot from the trip and would like to thank the Engineering College for allowing them to visit. We hope that the two providers will continue to work closely long into the future.
