HND students visit Deep Sea Electronics

Electrical and Electronic Higher Apprentices Matthew Tindall, Mike Coates, Joe Godliman and Darren Kirk were pleased to have visited Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) in Hunmanby on Tuesday 25th September to help them with their HND studies.

DSE who invest heavily in their own apprenticeship programme through DTA gave the apprentices a tour around their facilities where they manufacture generator controllers, auto-transfer switch controllers, battery chargers and vehicle and off-highway controllers.

Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design Engineer, John Blakemore explained the circuit board design procedures to the apprentices that can end up being 8 layers thick. The tour allowed the apprentices to see the start of the process where the boards are first populated with their components, soldered, tested and then fitted into their enclosures.

Thank you to Mike Pennock for arranging and conducting the tour for the apprentices. It is fantastic to have the support of local employers who give the apprentices the opportunities to develop their careers by seeing different processes and products being made.
