Tom & Macauley head to Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

First year Dale Power Solutions apprentices Tom and Macauley are attending the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) at Hebden Hey this week which has been organised and funded by the Yorkshire Rotary Club and kindly sponsored by the IET Yorkshire Branch.

RYLA is a leadership development course which will give both apprentices the opportunity to develop their own skills, learn about working as part of a team and most importantly learning about leading and supervising other people. This wil benefit both apprentices by giving them some experience to apply towards the Behaviours element as part of their Apprenticeship Standard. Apprentices are specifically selected due to their young age, but also showing potential.

Past attendees of the RYLA have described the experience as:

  • 'Amazing'
  • 'Fun but exhausting'
  • 'Best experience of my life'
  • 'Fun, hard and brilliant.

We are pleased that Tom and Macauley are following in the footsteps of AB Graphic apprentice Alistair who took part in RYLA in 2016 and said it was a great experience.

We hope that they have a brilliant time and develop lots of new skills.

Afterwards, they will be making presentations at work, infront of the Malton and Norton Rotary and at a branch meeting of the IET in York to both explain their experience and to say thank you. We will keep you posted on how it goes for them in further news items.
