DTA are pleased to announce that the NYEngApps Brathay Apprentice Challenge Team have made it through to the National Finals to find the Apprentice Team of the Year. Three members of the team; Alyssa, Kelly and Jordan were in attendance at the Houses of Parliament in London on Wednesday 17th May with Team Mentor, Mick Sopf with team's from across the UK who have also entered the Challenge in 2017.
All members of the NYEngApps team worked extremely hard attending careers events to promote apprenticeships as well as creating a practice cricket net for Westow Cricket Club as part of their Community Project.
The team are made up of apprentices who undertake apprenticeship training at DTA and work for various engineering employers across North Yorkshire; Portakabin, Rosti, Plowman Bros and Sheppee. The team had to tackle the issues of not being able to have team meetings due to attending on different days and did a fantastic job working as a team. DTA would like to thank all of the above employers for their support during the Challenge.
Congratulations to the team and we're sure they'll be looking forward to attending the National Finals in Windemere in June. Follow their Twitter see if they will be crowned Apprentice Team of the Year 2017.
All at DTA would like to say well done to the team from Dale Power Solutions who did an excellent job in the Challenge. They attended many careers events and highlighted the benefits of apprenticeships to young people across North Yorkshire. They also did a fantastic community project; revamping a children's play area in Scarborough which looked brilliant and will benefit the community long into the future - all of the team should be very proud.
